2011
woodblock print 2/10
41.1×30.0cm
Frame:60.0×47.8cm
This artwork was created shortly after the Great East Japan Earthquake. I was deeply moved by the vitality of chrysanthemums and gerberas, and despite being a woodblock print, I focused on capturing the realism of the flowers. The piece is made using gofun (white pigment) and ink, employing traditional woodblock printing techniques.
The condition of the artwork is good.
There is an edition, signature, and year of production noted at the bottom of the piece.
Frame condition: New
Delivery of this piece within Japan will take approximately 1 week to 10 days.
ABOUT Hisae Isogami
I am deeply interested in layers, which is the theme of many of my works.
I want to build up time, seasons, and stories on my work like layers of geological strata.
In creating woodblock prints, I also aim to produce beautiful and delicate layers of color surfaces and matiere through the application of layers of paint.
