FAQ

ABOUT WALLS TOKYO

WALLS TOKYO is a gallery with the following points.

  1. A contemporary art gallery available for purchase both in-store and on our website.
  2. We are creating a store that looks like a select shop and is easy for art beginners to visit.
  3. We have a large selection of works by famous domestic and international artists, rather than those affiliated with specific artists.
  4. In order to popularize art, we always aim to set the lowest prices in Japan.
  5. We deal with talented young artists based overseas who are difficult to purchase in Japan.
  6. We collaborate with various industries such as architecture, publishing, food and beverage, etc. (I want to spread contemporary art widely throughout the world.)

We opened WALLS TOKYO to lower the barrier to entry into galleries, similar to those in Europe and America.
We want to be the first store that people who are interested in art visit, so please feel free to come to WALLSTOKYO and spend some time relaxing while looking at the works.
We place more emphasis on building a long-term relationship with our customers than on purchasing our products.

Due to the nature of the products (artworks) we sell, if possible, we recommend that you check them out in person before purchasing, rather than purchasing online.

We also run a gallery, so please contact us if you are interested in visiting.

The Internet sales site has been established for the convenience of customers who live far away or have difficulty coming to visit us due to busy work seasons.

We have also set up a website to provide Japanese fans with new works by artists working overseas that are difficult to obtain in Japan.

If you are unsure about purchasing on our website, please feel free to contact us. We will fully explain how to use the product and how to use it.

About purchasing art in general

People who purchase art have a variety of purposes. Generally, customers buy for the following purposes:

  1. For the purpose of introducing healing into the space
  2. As a collection of works by specific artists (collector)
  3. As an interior
  4. Children's education (as part of emotional education)
  5. Investment purpose (for the purpose of maintaining and improving future asset value or aiming for resale profit)

and so on

Questions about the work

  1. For works owned by our company, we set prices that take into account our purchasing price, holding costs, and profits during the holding period.
  2. You can check our highly transparent pricing by comparing the selling prices of works by artists with many distributed works with those of other stores. We also constantly research the selling prices of other stores.
  3. For some works that we are contracted to sell directly from artists, the prices are based on the artists themselves, but we will not accept sales on consignment unless the price is appropriate to the artist's track record.

As a general rule, we are unable to accept price negotiations during the sales period, but for some works that are not sold during the sales period, the selling price may be changed at the request of the sales consignor. Please contact us if you are interested.

WALLS TOKYO only handles works that we have directly purchased through auctions, etc., or works that we have been commissioned to sell directly from the artists themselves. When we purchase works, we purchase them from auctions and other secondary markets for professionals, not individuals, so the possibility of forgeries being found among all the works we sell is extremely low. In addition, please rest assured that we offer a purchase guarantee in the event that there is any doubt about the authenticity of any of the works we handle.

Our products are purchased from the following routes:

  1. Major domestic and international auction markets
  2. Private sales conducted by major domestic and international auction companies
  3. Purchase from famous overseas galleries
  4. Direct purchasing and sales contract from the artist himself/herself

We will explain the condition of the item in detail, so please contact us before placing your order. You can also see most of our works in person at our stores. You can hold the work until your inquiry and confirmation.

Questions regarding procedures

If you wish to cancel an item ordered via the Internet after placing your order, please contact us. If the work has already been shipped, please return it to us after receiving the work. In that case, please note that the shipping charges will be borne by the customer. In addition, please note that works commissioned by overseas artists may be shipped from overseas after the order is placed, so the shipping charges associated with return shipping may be higher than for domestic shipments.

Regarding insurance when shipping works, please contact us as insurance handling varies depending on the work.

Works will arrive within a week to 10 days, but please note that some commissioned works by overseas artists may take nearly three weeks.

You can only return purchased items within one week of receiving the item.

We will issue it upon request, so please feel free to let us know.
