ABOUT Yuichi Higurashi

The artist creates sculptures using rock salt as a material.

He continues to create works on the theme of things that should disappear from the world, made of things that melt and disappear.
Weapons are a symbol of power. It is the power to protect oneself, and depending on how it is used, it can become violent and take a person’s life.
Salt is an essential nutrient for the body. Too much of it, however, can be a hindrance.
We believe that weapons and salt have one thing in common: both are necessary, but in excess they can be harmful.
Rock salt is the crystallized product of the sea, the source of life, over a long period of time.
The salt that was created as a tool for hurting people is now made into a form of salt that is necessary for people to live. That is what "SALT ARMS" is all about.
