ABOUT Noriyuki Nakayama
Noriyuki Nakayama has consistently painted women’s faces and figures, and especially since around 2001, he has been showing works with large close-ups of faces. Without a specific model, the artist spends two to three months to complete a single painting, which is formed from his own daily memories and experiences, and painted with solid technique and descriptive power.
The expressions on the painted women’s faces give various impressions, as if projecting the viewer’s inner self.
