"This work reimagines words as stars scattered across the night sky. Using an English-language book, the artist inverts the color tones of each page, extracts only the dots above the lowercase letter “i,” and rearranges them into new compositions before binding the pages into a book.
Words are perceived differently by each individual through multiple layers of context, including country, culture, history, personal experience, and emotion. While these differences can sometimes make mutual understanding difficult, they can also offer an opportunity to imagine the depth and complexity behind the words of others. Through traces of language stripped of their original meaning, this work suggests the profound nature of language and the human capacity to connect one point to another and generate new meanings."
This work is made using an actual handwritten letter. Several pieces are available, but as each work follows the content of the original letter, every piece is different. Please note that the specific letter cannot be selected.
