ABOUT David Hockney
David Hockney is one of the leading British artists of our time, and after graduating at the top of his class from the Royal College of Art in London in 1962, he made a spectacular debut, being described as the standard-bearer of Pop Art. His style changed dramatically when he moved to Los Angeles, where he produced a series of outstanding works full of bright light and rich colors. In his paintings, Hockney skillfully depicts scenes from his life, such as casual scenes in a room, portraits of family and friends, and scenes from his travels.
Hockney s work has been widely varied, not only in painting, but also in printmaking, photography, and stage design, and his brilliant developments have always attracted attention. In recent years, he has been exploring new materials, such as using the iPad in his paintings.
Currently based in Normandy, France, he continues to work ambitiously even in his 80s.
