ABOUT Atsuhiko Misawa
Atsuhiko Misawa, one of Japan’s most notable sculptors, began creating "ANIMALS" featuring life-size animals in 2000, and his unique works, backed by his outstanding technique, are highly acclaimed.
Since 2007, he has been actively holding solo exhibitions at art museums across Japan, expanding his creative Misawa World.
He chisels camphor wood after establishing his image through a series of drawings, leaving chisel marks on the bodies of his animals, which are painted with oil paint, giving them a lively life force and a unique presence.
