ABOUT Izumi Kato
One of the most sought-after artists, she has been actively exhibiting both in Japan and abroad, including participating in an exhibition organized by the Venice Biennale in 2007.
The motifs, which seem to be a fusion of humans and plants, are depicted in a manner reminiscent of primitive art that existed thousands of years ago, and capture the imagination of the viewer. In recent years, she has been creating not only paintings but also sculptures made of wood. She is also energetically working on sculptures made of soft vinyl.
