Walls Tokyo is pleased to present the first solo exhibition of Hisae Isogami, "The Space House.

 

Hisae Isogami was born in Saitama Prefecture. After graduating from Tokyo Zokei University, she completed graduate studies at Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts.
She has been showing her works mainly in woodblock prints. Isogamis woodblock prints, which she says "aim to create beautiful and delicate layers of color surfaces and matiere by rubbing paint over and over," evoke the colors of the natural world, with layers of neutral colors and various expressions that change with the passage of time and the ever-changing sunlight.
Inspired by "Ihatove," a word coined by Kenji Miyazawa meaning an ideal world in the minds eye, this exhibition will present poetic works inspired by the image of an ideal world that is connected to the real world.
