About

DALEK

DAKEK (JAMES MARCHALL) was born into a military family and later spent high school years in the US, East Coast and Japan, where he was influenced by punk culture, skateboard culture and graffiti culture. After graduating from the Art Institute of Chicago and Virginia Commonwealth University, he worked as an assistant to Takashi Murakami, laying the foundation for his career as an artist. His "Space Mouse" paintings, which he himself draws as a metaphor for human beings, and his colorful geometric patterns, are so perfect that they could be mistaken for prints, even when painted, and are a perfect match for the Takashi Murakami influence.
