Introducing Artists

About

Elizabeth Peyton

She is one of the most contemporary portrait painters since Warhol. She studied art in New York and painted portraits in oil and watercolor based on photographs she took for magazines or by herself, and has painted celebrities from around the world, including musicians, Hollywood stars, and the British Royal Family, with her unique touch. Her portraits range from historical figures such as William Shakespeare and Richard Wagner to pop stars such as Eminem and close friends. Today, her original works are said to be hard to find.
